Disabling Auto Renewal For Xbox Live Much Easier Now

November 11, 2011 by Addison Langford

Remember when it was a pain in the dick to turn off auto renewal for Xbox Live? Well it’s less of one now.

Xbox.com's big ol' update is live guys! I'm sure those of you readers who play on Xbox Live will be very excited and impressed. Personally, I can't get on Xbox Live unfortunately so this update is kind of lost on me, but hooray for you guys!

This update has added quite a few features but one of the biggest ones it seems is that they have added the ability to turn off the auto renewal for your account online. And it's only taken the consoles entire life time pretty much! Used to be that you weren't able to cancel your account online, you would have to call up Microsoft and deal with their people for a long time. Basically it was a huge pain in the ass.

Along with all the ability to cancel your account online they have added a new messaging system to make it cleaner and more enjoyable to talk with your friends. Another new feature are the "beacons" that let people know which games you enjoy playing the most often. The icing on the cake with this update is simply that it looks so much prettier!

If you do decide to cancel though be forewarned that you may be bombarded with deals designed to get you to stick around. This update is sure to please fans of the Xbox Live service, it doesn't seem like much but sometimes it's the simple things in life. Next up we've got the dashboard update coming … soon? I guess. They said Fall and Fall is almost up, can’t be too much longer.
