The Nintendo Switch Online service has been revealed to be getting more Nintendo 64 titles in the future! This came via the Nintendo Direct today and continues the long line of games that have been announced for the service. Considering that many of the best Nintendo games do require an online component, it might be time to sign up if you haven’t thus far. Granted, you have to get the Expansion Pack for these titles, but many people simply don’t have the willpower to say no–and for good reason. The newest titles are a doozy.
Anyway, the games announced for the next wave of N64 titles include Pilotwings 64, which was one of the games that had a big impact on Nintendo gamers for a while–the developer even made a sequel to it for the Nintendo 3DS a while back.
Easily one of the bigger announcements was that of not one, not two, but three Mario Party games–in fact, it’s the first three of the series. This is definitely a big win for gamers because these are widely considered to be the best of the Mario Party line, and they had to basically reboot the series to get back to what these three had to offer. So since they’ll offer multiplayer once again, you have no excuse to not go and just wreck your friends. Go on, see if your friendships survive the most brutal series of party games out there.
The next huge addition is that of Pokemon Stadium. This title was another one that made a big impact on fans because it was honestly the first time we could battle Pokemon in the 3D space. There were a variety of modes within the game, and you could pick from all of the original 150 Pokemon to take on your opponents. The game honestly still holds up mostly to this day, so you know people are going to play it again. Oh, and they’re bringing in the sequel as well for double your Poke-enjoyment!
If you’re looking for a sporty title, there’s 1080 Snowboarding, a classic in many ways because of its fun way of putting snowboarding on consoles. Or if being on the dirt is more your thing, there’s Excitebike 64!
Some of these titles will be coming out in 2022, while the rest will be coming out in 2023. Oh, but Nintendo had one more big announcement:
Yes, it’s true! Goldeneye is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service, and even cooler than that, we’ll be getting online play with it, further opening up the action and making sure everyone can fight each other.
