Gamespot.com is reporting that publisher Konami will be releasing three Silent Hill titles in 2012. That's quite a bit of scary for one year. I usually can't handle one of those games, let alone three, but this will definitely please fans of the successful horror franchise.
The Silent Hill HD Collection is the first game to be released in 2012 of the trio; it was originally slated for a fall 2011 released, however the date was pushed back a few months and will be on shelves on January 24 of next year. The package will feature Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams and Silent Hill 3 with performance enhancements including true high-definition graphics and new, improved voice-overs for the characters.
Book of Memories will debut on the PS Vita sometime in February (likely a launch title) and it will introduce multiplayer for the first time in the series.
Lastly, Downpour will be released in March on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; this will be the first time in three years that a Silent Hill title has been released on those platforms, the previous one being Silent Hill: Reunion.
