Sometimes the rumour mill produces something worth paying attention to. Remember how we all knew about the PS3 slim nearly a year before the official announcement, down to the specifications, because somebody who worked for Sony started posting on N4G?
And with a game as big as Grand Theft Auto, you have to expect a degree of speculation, not least of all about the release date – we all want to play it and we want to play it now.
It seems, however, like Rockstar may have left a subtle hint in their announcement trailer as to when we'll be getting our hands on their latest entry in the series. 2405 is only the number of the house being put up for sale thanks to foreclosure, a random number that probably has little to no bearing on anything at all.
Until you realize that the song playing over the trailer, Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces, came out on the 24th May 1968.
Is this a sly reference to the track, an attempt to throw off anybody looking for hidden signs in the trailer or perhaps something deeper? We'll have to wait to find out more…
