The latest big update for the stylish beat-em-up game Sifu will land on August 31. Developer Sloclap has revealed the date of the new free Summer update, which will add a ton of new features. Heading into the popular martial arts action game will be a wealth of new gameplay modifiers. Along with a new scoring system, it’ll be the latest evolution of the title’s gameplay systems.
The news of the update also came alongside a brand new trailer. Amongst the brand new modifiers heading into Sifu will be options for adapting the game’s difficulty. Back in May, the fighting-based adventure got its first set of difficulty options. This was great news for those who enjoy their martial arts with an extreme level of challenge, as well as for those who prefer things a little less intense. Now, those difficulty options have been expanded upon a step further. You can check out some of the new features heading into Sifu in the game’s latest update trailer.
As detailed in the new clip, players will soon be able to adapt their gameplay settings in Sifu to suit their moods. For those who prefer a more chilled-out vibe as they brawl their way through the slickly designed world, the new update adds a god mode. On top of this, players will be able to introduce unbreakable weapons into their arsenal. Add in settings for boosting player health and even setting the bar to retain health indefinitely, the game should become a lot more accessible.
There’s also a brand new scoring system heading to Sifu. This will keep track of players’ overall combat finesse, which means those who enjoy a good button-bashing session may need to pay closer attention. The new scoring system will take note of players’ efficiency, overall smoothness and variety of moves used in combat encounters. If you’re able to breeze through an encounter without getting hit, you’ll be handsomely rewarded, score-wise. This new way of grading players’ combat tactics will mean that it’ll be important to really master your martial arts skillset. Although it’ll probably help to be able to turn god mode on if you need to practice your combos and finishers.
Two new cosmetic items are also included as part of the upcoming update. Players will be able to access the new Enforcer armour in the Wuguan, if they own the deluxe edition of Sifu. If not, players will still be able to add a new outfit to their wardrobes. This comes in the form of the new Master Hand outfit, which consists of a snazzy-looking trench coat and a stylish hat.
Sifu is available to play now on PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The free Summer update will land on August 31.
