One of the things that many people are happy about currently are the large amount of Star Wars projects that are in the works. We already know that the next series to come out is that of Andor, and that it’ll arrive in September. After that will come the Ashoka series, as well as various other projects from all walks of Star Wars life. At C2E2 over the weekend, the star of one of those shows, Ashoka Tano herself Rosario Dawson, went and answered a lot of fan questions about the upcoming series featuring the fan-favorite Jedi.
As you can see in the tweet above, Dawson is asked a question about Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was of course the rival to Ezra Bridger and the others in Star Wars Rebels. If you recall, at the end of the series, Thrawn was trying to unleash a new weapon that would change everything and give the Empire the ultimate victory. Ezra used his connection to the Force and some very special creatures to literally warp himself, Thrawn, and his ship out of their sector in order to save everyone and secure a type of peace.
We then see Sabine and Ashoka reunite to go and try to find him after the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. Fast forward to The Mandalorian, and we saw Ashoka questioning someone about Thrawn and whether he had been spotted nearby.
At C2E2, Dawson confirmed that this is a major thread in her upcoming series, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only does finding Thrawn help them take out a big threat once and for all. If they find Thrawn, they find Ezra.
Dawson also stated that her and Dave Filoni got to watch a fully edited episode before C2E2 and she called it a “religious experience”.
