We're not exactly huge fans of unboxing videos, but we'll make an exception for this one video that shows the unpackaging and assembly of a man-sized Skyrim statue, which depicts the game's Nord hero, who depicted in countless screenshots and concept artwork.
It stands up to six feet in height and is poised to stand at various GameStop and EBGames outlets throughout the world. These statues will undoubtedly fill the rooms of the employees who will take them home in the months beyond Skyrim's release. The rest, of course, will go to fill the world's already overflowing landfills and garbage dumps, which leads me to wonder if advertising like this isn't in any way wasteful—not that it will stop anyone from producing ostentatious marketing materials to advertise their products.
Skyrim is set for a November 11 release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
