Combat Zone, the fighting pit where you meet Cait, the fighter with a troubled past, had more content than it presently has in the released version of Fallout 4.
Players who’ve datamined the game’s audio files have discovered some scrapped dialog relating to the area. The audio clips reveal lines not present in the game that were made for the ring announcer Tommy Lonegan, which suggests that the player would have entered into the ring to fight other contenders for prizes and bottlecaps.
The player would be able to go up in ranks as he or she participated in the fights and earn bigger payouts for their efforts.
In the game proper, all that happens is that the player stumbles into the Combat Zone and kills all the raiders who become alerted to their presence after Lonegan announces the player’s entry.
There’s a chance, but it’s unlikely that Combat Zone will be refurbished as DLC content given that everyone in there is dead after the player arrives. The files could, however, be used in a future user-made mod.
