Bandai Namco Games has a host of new announcements today, revealing four new games—the first of which is a double dose of new God Eater games.
The publisher has announced that it will be releasing two God Eater titles—God Eater Resurrection and God Eater 2 Rage Burst in North America. Both titles will be out in the summer of 2016 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC.
Both games are set in the early 2050s, when unknown lifeforms called Oracle Cells begin to infest the planet and consume all life. Their ravenous appetite, coupled with their remarkable ability to adapt to every environment quickly turns them into monsters called the Aragami, which are gigantic monsters hell-bent on devouring everything in their path. Humanity's last hope rests in the hands of individual Aragami hunters known as the God Eaters, who take on these monstrosities in fearsome battles using newly developed weapons known as God Arcs.
“BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is known around the world for its robust line-up of anime inspired games that transport players into their favorite anime worlds.” says Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “With the GOD EATER series, we have a case where a successful game franchise spawned popular anime and manga series that have developed a very popular following in Japan and we’re excited to introduce an entirely new audience in the Americas to the GOD EATER phenomenon with the arrival of GOD EATER Resurrection and GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst.”
