Seemingly responding to the announcement of Kojima Productions, Konami has immediately revealed their next plans for Metal Gear.
Of course, they will continue to support Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This was not going to be a surprise, even with the changes afoot in Konami, since it’s an expectation within the industry the veteran is unlikely to turn its back on.
Konami also confirmed plans for a new Metal Gear game. Consequently, they have also opened up new job openings for said game, and applicants will be able to apply to either their Tokyo or LA studios.
Konami’s job openings are strangely obscure, as they don’t even state directly what kinds of game staff they are looking for. They do seem to be on the lookout for developers with prior experience.
It seems hard to imagine anyone wanting to work with Konami after what happened to Kojima, but if you think about it, it’s still an opportunity to work on Metal Gear, and notably, a high profile game company. For some in the industry, a job with Konami could still be better than nothing.
