FromSoftware Is Hiring Staff For Multiple New Games

June 24, 2022 by Chirag Pattni

Could Armored Core be close to a release date?

FromSoftware, the acclaimed developer behind games like Elden Ring, has started recruiting for multiple new games it has in development.

This information comes from a Tweet on the official FromSoftware Twitter account. When translated, it reads, “We have started recruiting staff for a wide range of occupations for multiple new projects. We look forward to working with you on making games with FromSoftware. Please check the special site if you like.”

If you follow the link in the Tweet, it will take you to a website that mentions how new staff members will get to work on multiple new projects across a range of roles such as art design and animation.

Further to this, the lead director on many FromSoftware games, Hidetaka Miyazaki, spoke in an interview about the studio’s next game. The unannounced new game is apparently in the final stages of its development, which leads us to believe that it could be the next game to be announced by the studio.

Previous rumors have pointed towards a new entry in the Armored Core series as the next game from the Japanese developer. On top of that, the Character Designer position at the studio specifically mentions “mecha design.” With that in mind, it feels like the Armored Core rumors have something to them.

Beyond the speculation about FromSoftware’s next game, Miyazaki has stated that he will continue to direct new games and he already started work on his next project. Miyazaki seems to be interested in working on a project that is “more abstract fantasy” compared to other games that the studio has done in the past. He has already had some ideas and created images that are a far cry from the studio’s past work.

The developer also made sure to mention that Elden Ring will continue to receive new updates. With any luck, we hope that some substantial expansions for Elden Ring are in the works.
