Firaxis has released a host of new screenshots for their upcoming tactical turn-based game, XCOM 2. Originally slated for release in 2015, the game has since been delayed by a few months to a February 2016 release.
XCOM 2 sees a world in which the XCOM initiative failed in the first game, losing to the alien invasion and ultimately finding themselves on the run. Players take command of what's left of the human forces and form a resistance against the aliens, striking from the shadows like guerilla fighters and taking back Earth from its alien captors.
The new screenshots, released today, reveal some new environments where players will be able to do battle in, including small towns and the wilderness. These suburban areas operate outside of ADVENT control, making it easier for XCOM to infiltrate and take over.
The game comes out on the PC on February 5.
