Just Cause 3’s Final Dev Diary Looks at the Engine that Powers the Destruction

November 23, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Explore the tech before you get to play the game next week.

Just Cause 3 developer Avalanche Studios has released its final developer diary for the game ahead of its release on Tuesday, December 1st for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The video looks at the game's engine and focuses on mechanics such as the procedural destruction models and enemy AI behaviours.

“The ability to create a world of this density, complexity and size – that alone is something that makes the Avalanche Engine stand out.” Linus Blomberg, CTO at Avalanche Studios, remarked.

Just Cause 3 sees Rico take on dictator General Di Ravello, leader of the fictitious Mediterranean nation, the Republic of Medici, and cause as much mayhem and destruction as possible. You can watch the developer diary below.
