Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward took to Twitter earlier this week in an attempt to answer some of the more specific Modern Warfare 3 related questions. Those of you worried about balance issues and cheaters, read on.
Explosives, for instance, used to be the bane of any MW2 player. There were times when you could literally not spawn without dying from some vaguely local explosion. This won’t be an issue in the third game, explosives do a lot less damage, with added equipment to really take the edge off. Similarly, deeper bullet penetration is a Weapon Proficiency now and will only be available on Assault, LMGs and Sniper Rifles, meaning those of you with SMGs had best find a new skill to rely on.
For PC gamers, perhaps the best news is that the anti-cheating devices won’t be exclusive to Elite – as it should be but it needed clarification.
I can't wait for Modern Warfare 3, the split screen option alone puts it ahead of Battlefield 3 for me. Knowing that it won’t be a horrible mixture of lag, explosions, near-endless kill steaks and sniper-enabled SMGs, like MW2, is just a bonus.
