The sci-fi racing game Redout 2 has been delayed for the Nintendo Switch. This scheduled delay will not affect the console and PC versions of the game, which are still planned to come out later this week.
Redout 2 has already seen one big delay across all of its platforms, but this Switch version now needs just a little bit longer so that it can be brought up to the same high standard as the other versions. The official Twitter account of the game broke the news today saying, “Switch players – the game needs a little more polish time. We’re working to get the Switch version out in July, and we’ll have an updated release date for you as soon as we can.”
The game looks set to be an extremely fun one, with high-speed anti-gravity races coupled with rollercoaster-like tracks and an online multiplayer mode so you can play with your friends. Redout 2 is dubbed as a tribute to classic arcade racing games, where racing through all these dystopian wastelands is the sport on this now unrecognizable Earth.
Players will be able to soar at breakneck speeds and compete in an extensive and immersive single-player campaign, as well as that multiplayer mode we mentioned. The game comes with great customization and an epic soundtrack that will make you drive that little bit faster. Some of the key features in this game are:
- Speed and Control – Similar to anti-gravity racing classics like Wipeout and F-Zero, players can experience ultra-fast speeds and an extensive driving system that elevates it a little bit more.
- Extensive Career Mode – You can fly through countless events across over 30 unique racetracks, and here’s the thing, all these tracks can be reversed too. There is also the option of participating in several race modes like Last Man Standing and Time Attacks.
- Competitive Multiplayer – The online multiplayer mode fits up to 12 players and consists of the same challenges that the campaign consists of, but with full customization as well.
- Comprehensive Customization – You can fully customize your vehicle by choosing from an array of chassis, stabilizers, rudders, and intercoolers – you name it, it’s there. Share all your modifications with the photo mode and post them to the online community too.
