Let me tell you the story of a man named Monty Oum. He worked for the company Rooster Teeth during the earliest days of the company and was vital in the Red Vs. Blue series. Eventually, he came up with an idea for his own original series and was promised that he would be able to pursue it after a key point in RvB. That series was RWBY, a show about four amazing girls in a world of monsters who must work together to save the world from a terrible evil. That show went from cult classic to mainstream mega-hit within a few seasons. Now, RWBY: Ice Queendom is coming.

If you’ve never watched RWBY, it’s what many would describe as an American-made anime series, featuring both Japanese and western art influences. With RWBY: Ice Queendom, however, the show will complete its transformation into a true anime series, as the entire show is being animated by Studio Shaft, a Japanese animation studio.
The show will be canon adjacent, and the first two episodes will recap the first two volumes of RWBY. The rest of the show will tell a different set of stories with the character Weiss Schnee at the forefront.
Fans are very excited about this, given that RWBY Volume 9 has been delayed due to various production delays due to COVID. The first three episodes of Ice Queendom are coming to Youtube on June 24th, and the dubbed version will feature the original cast (save for the late Monty Oum).
RWBY fans won’t have to wait too much longer.
