The Nintendo New York Store is home to a plethora of goodies perfect for any type of Nintendo fan and often hosts fun launch parties for new games. This time around, yesterday the store kicked off some launch festivities for Mario Strikers: Battle League on Nintendo Switch, as the game is now available both physically and digitally.
If you grabbed your copy from the store, you could receive some extra goodies, such as a poster and some cool art cards. Additionally, the store has set up a demo station for the game, where you can deck it out in some Mario Strikers action with another player. However, the most interesting aspect of the launch event was definitely the photo opportunity, as you can strike a pose with your favorite Mario character.
If you’re like me and don’t live near the store, a video has been uploaded by YouTuber KirbyGCN17 that documents the event. Hopefully, Nintendo NY will return to hosting tournaments for competitive games in the future, but they’re seemingly beginning to return to some level of normality for such events. In 2017, Nintendo hosted two major launch parties for the Nintendo Switch and Super Mario Odyssey, where they offered hands-on demos and interesting activities to partake in.
Nintendo has revealed that more content will be arriving post-launch for Battle League, as that’s a strategy they have proven to be fond of in the past with other competitive Switch games. Mario Strikers: Battle League is now available for Nintendo Switch.
