The release of id Software's RAGE is something PC gamers, especially fans of the first person shooter genre, have been looking forward to for years. However, the release of the game on the PC appears to be inundated in problems that threaten to hurt the experience.
Those who installed RAGE on the PC were bewildered to discover how bad it looked on AMD/ATI graphics cards. The game's textures stream in with terrible obviousness, and the game runs at unplayable low framerates on high-end graphics cards.
According to players who spend some time fiddling with the game's lackluster performance, RAGE appears not to be detecting the VRAM on AMD/ATI cards, forcing it to instead stream the textures from disk every time you move your mouse.
