On November 12, New Xbox Live Experience will be launching, bringing enhanced social features, faster performance, a simplified Windows 10-based interface, and a new vertical layout to the Xbox One dashboard. With it also comes the official start of backwards compatibility, which will allow the user to play select Xbox 360 titles on their Xbox One.
This new feature has raised the question of how players will be able to purchase DLC for each of the 100+ titles that the program includes. Will they emulate the Xbox 360 store and let users buy extra content that way? Responding to a GameInformer inquery, Microsoft says:
“Right now, Backward Compatibility does not emulate the Xbox 360 store and new Xbox 360 games can be purchased on your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com."
Microsoft also confirmed that all DLC will be supported, and upon purchasing on Xbox 360 or Xbox.com, it will automatically downloaded to your Xbox One. Those who have already bought the DLC should have no problem, as it too will download automatically.
