Nordic Games has uploaded the release trailer for Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition to YouTube. The publisher purchased the rights for the Darksiders IP from THQ during the former company’s bankruptcy proceedings. The game is being developed by Gunfire Games, a studio consisting almost entirely of team members from original Darksiders developer, Vigil Games.
The game has been remastered to run in native 1080p resolution, with extra bells and whistles that include better lighting, improved character designs, and environmental graphics. Some of the game’s levels have also been reworked. The game’s director also commented in a press release earlier this year that they also rewrote the renderer to be more similar to other current generation game engines. The publisher has also discussed directly porting the original game to current gen consoles, along with the possibilities of a DarkSiders 3.
The Deathinitive Edition comes with all of the original game’s DLC, which includes the Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov's Axe, Van Der Schmash Hammer, Fletcher's Crow Hammer, Mace Maximus and Argul's Tomb.
Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition releases next week on October 27, with both digital and physical retail versions, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
