The swordplay in Skyward Sword is, of course, fun. It would have to be, given the game's name and everything. A new video released by Nintendo shows off just how much fun swordfighting in the game can actually be. It's a tutorial of sorts, and it has Link in his latest incarnation chopping a bunch of painted logs.
The game is controlled entirely through the Wiimote, so you'll be raising your arm and swinging it around just as you would a real sword—assuming the sword weighed less than a pound and was made out of plastic.
Link hits the various weak spots of the log (I had no idea wood had 'weak spots' but it's game logic) while performing circle-attacks and fatal strikes on the helpless pieces of wood.
A second video released by Nintendo reveals a bit more nuance beyond swordplay, with Link's burgeoning romance with the princess Zelda as they soar through the skies.
