Halo 5: Guardians Now Available for Preload

October 15, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

You can now pre-load Halo 5 to play it as soon as it launches.

With the release of Halo 5: Guardians just a few short weeks away, Microsoft has enabled pre-loads for the game so you can download the game ahead of time.

Players will follow the disappearance of Master Chief as a mysterious and unstoppable force threatens the galaxy in the game's co-op and single-player campaign. In multiplayer, players can engage in 24-player battles, and 4-v-4 competitive combat. You'll need an Xbox Live membership to play the game online.

The Xbox One-exclusive title is available in two versions—Halo 5: Guardians Pre-Order Edition, and Halo 5: Guardians Digital Deluxe Edition. Here's what the differences are:

  • Halo 5: Guardians – Pre-Order Edition – This bundle includes Halo 5: Guardians and Digital Pre-Order Bonus (a weapon and custom skin usable in the Warzone multiplayer mode).
  • Halo 5: Guardians – Digital Deluxe Edition – This bundle includes Halo 5: Guardians, Warzone REQ Bundle, Halo: The Fall of Reach – Animated Series and Digital Pre-Order Bonus (a weapon and custom skin usable in the Warzone multiplayer mode).

There will be an update, prior to launch, that will supplement online multiplayer with map content for Arena Multiplayer and Warzone Multiplayer. Make sure you have the Power Setting for your Xbox One set to “Instant On” so that you’ll automatically download the online multiplayer update prior to October 27th and be ready on launch day.

Halo 5: Guardians comes out on October 27, 2015.
