Destiny’s Microtransaction Store Goes Live, Silver Prices Detailed

October 13, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s what you can expect to pay for Silver in Destiny.

Destiny's new microtransaction system goes live today. Here's what you need to know.

Beginning today, players will be able to acquire a new form of currency called Silver, you'll only be able to get by spending real-world money. Bungie has announced plans to give away some free Silver for players logging in from now until December, as a sort of trial period for the service.

Silver can be purchased through PSN or the Xbox Store, just as you would any other DLC. The money can only be spent at the Eververse Trading Company in the Tower, which is hosted by Tess Everis, a returning non-player character.

Pricing details are as follows:

500 Silver – $4.99
1000 Silver (+ 100 bonus Silver) – $9.99
2000 Silver (+ 300 bonus Silver) – $19.99

At present, the only items available for sale are character emotes. There are 18, which we previewed yesterday. These emotes even include the infamous Carlton dance from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
