This morning 5th Cell, the developers behind the popular Scribblenauts series, has announced they will be using Fig to fund their next original IP. Fig, which was created and organized by key figures in the games industry, seeks to improve crowd funding in video games by allowing a mixture of public and private investments. Developers using Fig to launch crowdfunding campaigns include Obsidian Entertainment, inXile Entertainment, Double Fine Productions, and Harmonix. Said Jeremiah Slaczka, CEO and Creative Director at 5TH Cell:
“At 5TH Cell, we’re excited about our latest original IP, which introduces new gameplay innovations and is set in a deep and engaging universe unlike any other. We look forward to bringing on investors who want to share in the future financial success of the title, while helping us to bring the game’s unique universe to life.
We watched Fig’s first campaign, Outer Wilds, attract over $1 million in potential accredited investment and felt that of all the funding platforms, Fig’s was the perfect fit for our new IP.”
Scribblenauts has made over $13 million over the course of the series worldwide. If you are an accredited investor interested in pre-registering for 5th Cell's campaign, click here.
