Bossa Studios, the developer behind Surgeon Simulator, I Am Bread, and more, has announced a new version of its popular, not entirely accurate operating room simulator called Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality.
Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality aims to recreate the same zany, humorous gameplay of its predecessor, but with a focus on accurate-feeling controls in a virtual reality environment.
“Making players feel present and inhabiting the character of Nigel Burke has required a rethink of the original Surgeon Simulator concept,” a press release reads. “The tactile nature of accurately mapped VR controls has also meant that the game’s core physics based gameplay needs new game systems to preserve the difficult, comedy prone elements fans know and love.”
“As such,” it continues, “Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality will offer the surgeries, humour and achievements of the original but with a focus on the unique qualities of VR.”
While a release date for the new game is “TBA,” Bossa says that it will be available on “numerous VR platforms in the coming future.”
Surgeon Simulator: ER isn’t the only thing the studio is working on. The developer is also working on an MMO survival simulator called Worlds Adrift, which is expected to be released in 2016.
