Shigeru Miyamoto has shared a message to fans, explaining that Star Fox Zero has officially been delayed to Q1 2016.
Miyamoto refers to this as a big decision made since last week, and brought up these points as the rationale for the delay:
- polishing level design
- perfecting the tone of the cut scenes
- the discovery of using two screens
Miyamoto insists that Nintendo and Platinum can actually finish and release the game in time for this holiday, and that development has been going well. Perhaps this is a consequence of having to meet the high expectations for Star Fox Zero, the first new game in the series in four years, but also the first console iteration in a decade.
