XCOM 2 features extensive character customization options, much more so than any previous entry in the long-running series.
As a matter of fact, the original UFO: Enemy Unknown (or X-COM: UFO Defense), released way back in 1994, didn't even come with character customization and simply gave players a set of randomly generated agents to play with, most of whom looked like characters from Exosquad. Curiously, in addition to the way the characters looked, the story played out a lot like XCOM.
Duncan Jones, the director of the upcoming Warcraft movie, and the great sci-fi movies Source Code, and Moon, happens to be a huge fan of both XCOM and Exosquad. While I personally watched Exosquad, it was neat to see Jones point out the similarities between the two franchises way back in 2012.
If you love you some XCOM, you should try to get your hands on this old cartoon. Exo Squad. Loved it! http://t.co/tm4bUCMZ

Forward to the present. Firaxis tweeted out the following image on its official XCOM account, pointing out how players will be able to create anyone in the upcoming XCOM 2 with the use of its customization tools.
The developers reproduced a likeness of Duncan Jones as an example of the game's capabilities. The character looks nothing like him, but that's okay. I guess it's close enough. The important thing is that you tried, Firaxis.
