Interested in Call of Duty Black Ops 3? You may want to upgrade to an eight generation console, if you still have not.
Activision made arrangements so that gamers switching console generations would have upgrade options for Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. These games were designed in such a way that you could also have your multiplayer stats transferred over, from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, or Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

Now, we have confirmation from Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar that Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will not allow you to transfer stats over. No rationale has been given for the decision, but this may simply be a decision dictated by the market. At this point, many gamers are still at the midpoint in transitioning between seventh and eight gen consoles, but companies are already seeing more sales on eight gen platforms.
There are enough gamers on eight gen to justify not supporting seventh gen platforms anymore, but to Activision’s credit, they are still releasing their shooters to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, if no longer on Wii U.
Activision and Treyarch have yet to comment if gamers can upgrade their copies from seventh to eight gen. Of course, alternately you can get the game on PC and not have to worry about this at all.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows.
