Rockstar has released an enhanced version of last week's Max Payne 3 trailer, with pop-ups that provide context, backstory, and new details on what we've already seen. If you're holding out for new footage of the game, this update won't give you anything to get excited about, but if you're like me — desperate for even the tiniest shred of new info — it's definitely worth a watch.
The pop-ups provide a few scant details about the cover system, destructible environments, and bullet time, as well as some backstory on Max's journey to Brazil and the people he'll encounter on the gritty streets of São Paulo. There's Raul Passos, an old cop buddy who offers our monolguing hero a private security job, and the Comando Sobra gang who's fighting for control of the city.
And then there's the fluff: relatively generic links to news articles and Wikipedia entires on São Paulo and its rampant kidnapping problems. Listen, Rockstar, I'm here to drool over your games, not to learn.
Expect plenty more info (and educational factoids) to emerge in the months leading up to Max Payne 3's March release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
