MGS V: The Phantom Pain Pre-Order Deals Flood the Weekend

August 28, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

PC and console pre-orders for MGSV: The Phantom Pain have gone live, with massive discounts.

Out in is less than five days is Kojima's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Just in time for its launch several PC gaming retailers are offering up discounts up to 30% off, depending on your region. If you're a console gamer there are bonus incentives you can get at Best Buy (or a bit more if you're a paid Gamers Club Unlocked member).

While console version of Phantom Pain will no doubt get more notice, digital PC retailers are offering sizable discount to give extra incentives to the PC port version of the game.

PC Steam Key Phantom Pain Deals

  • DLgamer is $47.99 (Use coupon DLG-QOPANFAE)
  • 2game is $44.99 (No coupon required)

UK/EU Deal:

  • Games Planet is £37.49 (No coupon required)
  • FunStock Digital is £34.99 (Use coupon AUG-COUPSOC-PRE30)

Console Best Buy Deal

  • Xbox One + $10 Rewards — $59.99
  • PlayStation 4 + $10 Rewards — $59.99
  • PlayStation 3 + $10 Rewards — $49.99
  • Xbox 360 + $10 Rewards — $49.99

The Phantom Pain deals at Best Buy are of course geared for US residents only, with pick up in store available so you can start gaming next Tuesday. All pre-orders will include the Day One Edition which contains a number of in-game bonuses in the form of extra weapons, shield, and boost for Metal Gear Online (whenever that gets released).

You'll notice right off the bat that some of the PC discounts show up in British Pounds and some in US Dollars. After currency conversion the US prices are by far the best, with even after the 30% discount at FunStock Digital, you're paying about as much as a US gamer would pay full price on Steam. That said, if you're in the UK your best bet is either Funstock or Gamesplanet for MGSV.

Not content with only a $10 rewards bonus for the console version? There's actually a way to get a discount at Best Buy in addition to the $10 bonus rewards credit. You'll need to be the aforementioned GamersClub Unlocked memeber ($30 fee) and that'll unlock a 20% discount on all pre-order video games. If you're a gamer that purchase new titles frequently in a year – this may be a good option to choose.
