Guild Wars 2 Announces New Elite Character Class: The Daredevil

August 27, 2015 by Ian Boudreau

ArenaNet has announced a brand new character class for Guild Wars 2’s upcoming expansion.

Guild Wars 2’s upcoming expansion Heart of Thorns will feature an elite character class for thief players called the “daredevil.”

Thief characters have relied on evasion for survivability in combat, and the daredevil elite specialization will give players expanded abilities to avoid damage while still staying in the fight, according to developer ArenaNet’s announcement.

“With its high evasion potential, we’re excited to see the daredevil zipping around the battlefield, crushing vulnerable groups of enemies, and pressing the fight forward to the end,” ArenaNet said in the announcement post on the official Guild Wars 2 site.

Some key points about the daredevil class:

Evasion will be the focus, over shadowstepping and stealth. The daredevil will have an extra endurance bar that brings total endurance to 150

Dodge will further be enhanced by three possible enhancement options, each of which changes the thief’s dodge into a movement ability that can deal damage or cancel debuffs

Focus on the staff as a primary weapon, which gives daredevils the ability to do AoE melee damage, as well as several unique weapon-specific abilities

The class will also feature physical-type skills not available to the thief class, and an elite-level ability to do combos in combat. You can read the full post here.
