The Fallout universe has one of the most unique settings in video games. Set in a retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic 1950s environment, the Fallout games are a marriage of science fiction concepts and mid-20th century aesthetics.
It should come as no surprise then that Fallout 4 will follow in the footsteps of the previous games and continue to offer great visuals that are sure to inspire fans for years to come.
According to the game's creator Bethesda, the Fallout 4 art team produced twice as many assets for the upcoming game than they did for the studio's previous release, Skyrim. We're unlikely to see all of the work they produced within the game, but much of the work they've made can be found in the upcoming Fallout 4 art book.
The studio is teaming up with Dark Horse Comics on its December 22 release—coming out more than a month after the game comes out.
The artbook will feature never-before-seen art and concept work for the RPG's characters, environments, and weapons. Members of the development team provide commentary throughout.
To tease its release, Bethesda has put out the following images.
