Larian Studios has launched the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for Divinity: Original Sin 2.
The developer hopes to raise $500,000 and with almost 5,000 backers chipping in more than $215,000 so far they should easily reach their goal by the time the Kickstarter ends in 34 days.
Original Sin 2 revolves around the theme of “your origins affect[ing] who you are and what chances you get in life.” Players will choose a single character at the beginning of the game, along with race, origin story, and starting stats.
During the course of the game, you can recruit up to three companions who will have similarly detailed backgrounds. These companions can be used as a player character in the game's multiplayer, which supports both co-operative and competitive gaming for up to four players.
There's plenty more about the game on the Kickstarter page.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is in development for PC with future platforms being announced later.
