Many of Destiny's character actors are voiced by Hollywood and TV stars. One of the game's voice actors, Lance Reddick, best known for his roles in Fringe and The Wire, has given an interview with Playboy Magazine to talk about his role in the upcoming expansion pack, The Taken King. He'll be reprising his role as Commander Zavala, a character who provides missions to the player.
Speaking with the publication, Reddick said that he wasn't too familiar with the companies Bungie and Activision before taking the role. He admits that while he isn't a big gamer, he played Halo pretty religiously on the PC.
As for why he took the job, he says he heard word that Dinklage and Paul McCartney were involved with the project, so he signed on.
Asked whether he knew that he would be appearing in more games besides the Destiny core game, he replied, "What’s funny is that when I signed on, I didn’t realize there was a ten year plan for this game. I just thought I’d do a couple voice sessions and that was it. And because the sessions happened so sporadically, I wouldn’t really think about it because I was busy with other things."
"But I have to say, doing the sessions for this new expansion has been really interesting for me because there’s a compelling narrative there that’s really fascinating," he added.
