The North and South American Street Fighter 5 beta stress tests will take place on Aug. 25 and 26 from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m. PT, Capcom announced today in a blog post.
Capcom will also announce the dates and times of the returning five-day beta so long as these stress tests go well. The European and Asian stress tests were said to be “successful,” according to Capcom.
“Please note that although we anticipate these tests to run smoother than before, there may still be issues experienced by some users,” Capcom said in the aforementioned blog post. “All data received during each of the stress tests will help us improve the online experience moving forward, and we appreciate your understanding and support.”
Capcom also recommends following @SFVServer on Twitter for updates on the status of Street Fighter 5’s servers.
Originally, the first Street Fighter 5 beta, which occurred on PlayStation 4 last month, was cancelled early due to technical difficulties severely limiting the beta itself from living up to Capcom’s expectations. Capcom apologized for the beta not meeting expectations and the subsequent early cancellation. They also announced, at the time, that the three planned betas would still be coming to PS4 (no PC beta plans have been announced), but were not prepared to announce new dates for these betas.
Street Fighter 5 will be released next year on PS4 and PC.
