The popular space dwarf mining game Deep Rock Galactic has given players expected launch dates for its upcoming second season. Season 2, also known as Rival Escalation, will launch on April 28th for PC gamers, with the console version coming to Xbox and PlayStation on May 5th.
Deep Rock Galactic has been a massive success story so far, with lifetime player numbers so far clocking in at a mighty 10 million. The co-op space adventure, in which players team up as space dwarves and fight off aliens in a variety of underground mines, is expected to see continued success with the launch of its second season. With the new season comes a whole heap of free content as well. The game’s free Performance Pass is set to be packed with double the number of items, missions, cosmetics and other bonuses than what’s currently available. There’s also going to be a new powerful enemy for players to contend with known as the Nemesis, as well as having to take on the new robotic enemies known as the titular Rivals.
Deep Rock Galactic Season 2 will also offer some paid DLC if players want to access more than the considerable amount of content up for grabs for free. This will include the Robot Rebellion DLC pack, which allows players to use the leftovers of the robots they killed off at the end of Season 1 to customise weapons and armour.
With such a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks, players of Deep Rock Galactic are bound to be excited by the news of all the new content Season 2 will have to offer them.
Deep Rock Galactic is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC.
