Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero may have gotten a delay due to a hack on Toei Animation’s servers’, but that doesn’t mean that the movie can’t be hyped up a little more right? In fact, before the delay happened, the team at Toei Animation were dropping all sorts of teasers and info drops about the movie and what fans can expect. And at a special presentation, the director of the movie not only teased more things to come, but noted that there were various details of the film that the team were proud of.
“For this film, we have created detailed settings for accessories, costumes, vehicles, etc., which will make you say, ‘Even these things have the RR mark?!'”
Continuing, the director asked audiences to keep their eyes wide open throughout the movie
“I would be glad if you could pay attention to such details. Hope you enjoy the show!”
No doubt many of these details are possible for the simple reason that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the franchises’ first entry into making movies in a 3D format. Before (including with the beloved Broly movie that is the predecessor to Super Hero),t he movies have all been 2D, just like the anime. But this time around, they’re trying to make the 3D realm work for them.
And due to that, it’s easier to add details to 3D models than it is to 2D versions of the characters that you have to make sure stay “true” in every single frame of animation.
It’s also good to hear that the team is able to put so much into things as that shows a level of quality and care that can’t be ignored.
And while the delay still hurts fans, it’s fair to say that when the movie does come out (hopefully still this year), that it will be better thanks for the time and effort put into it all.
