Shani, a character last seen in The Witcher 1, may show up in Geralt’s next quest in the Hearts of Stone DLC, according to an image (seen above) on the Steam store page for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansion pass.
Shani, a field medic that helps Geralt out during The Witcher 1, is also mentioned in a journal entry in The Witcher 2, and, if Geralt takes on the quest “Carnal Sin” in The Witcher 3, he will meet a an acquaintance of Shani’s, another doctor who met her at Oxenfurt Academy.
Hearts of Stone, which is slated for release this October, is a roughly 10-hour mission that will take Geralt through No Man’s Land and into the alleys of Oxenfurt, “where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass.”
The other expansion, Blood and Wine is scheduled for release in early 2016 and will contain roughly 20 hours of new content. Since release, developer CD Projekt RED has supported The Witcher 3 through weekly free DLC add-ons and just released one of its largest patches to the game across all three platforms.
While the release of Hearts of Stone draws closer, CD Projekt RED has already begun transitioning some of its team over to developing its next game, Cyberpunk 2077.
