Ken, one of Street Fighter’s most iconic characters, will be in Street Fighter 5, Capcom revealed at San Diego Comic Con today.
The reveal trailer shows off a very different look for the martial artist and a change in his moveset that fans will note is fairly distinct from Ryu, which some argued were clones of each other in Street Fighter 4 when it came to their moveset. The new look may not be so new to longtime fans who will notice the similarities he now shares with his younger Street Fighter Alpha incarnation.
In the trailer, you can see Ken kicking ass with spinning kicks, fire, the signature “Hadouken” fire projectile, and more.
The trailer closed out with a tease of this guy:
Street Fighter 5 was announced last year for PlayStation 4 and PC with an expected release date of March 2016. Those who pre-order Street Fighter 5 will gain access to the beta when it goes live on July 23 at 9 p.m ET on PlayStation 4. Initially the beta will have four playable characters with Cammy and Birdie joining later for a total of six characters in the beta.
