According to trusted Star Wars leaker The Bespin Bulletin, the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi may feature another fan-favorite Jedi: Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Fans have speculated about an appearance by Qui-Gon Jinn in the show since rumors first began about the project, back when the plans were still to make an Obi-Wan movie. Now, reports say it could be happening.
The Bespin Bulletin said in a recent blog post, “I was planning to do an exclusive report on the appearance of Qui-Gon Jinn in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series in a few weeks time, once I’d hopefully got more information on the matter. However, my hand has been forced a little as MakingStarWars recently revealed on Star Wars Santa that he’d heard Jinn was making an appearance in the series but didn’t specify if it was a physical appearance or just a voice. My personal belief based on a singular source is that the appearance is physical, meaning Qui-Gon Jinn would be seen as a force ghost at some point during the limited series, and not just a disembodied voice us fans previously heard in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
Unfortunately, more information on Qui-Gon Jinn’s possible involvement with Obi-Wan Kenobi is not currently known. Although, the leaker seems fairly sure that the Jedi Master will be seen in the series saying, “Though an appearance from Qui-Gon Jinn seems obvious, it’s still an exciting development in my opinion.” Fans of the franchise would certainly be happy for any appearances by the original cast.
While plot details are still a mystery, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be set a decade after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The series sees fan-favorite Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan, and Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader, much to the excitement of Star Wars fans everywhere.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series, will premiere on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
