Star of Netflix’s mega-popular series The Witcher and the current Superman, Henry Cavill recently visited Warhammer World in the UK, much to the delight of fans. Cavill is known for his love of games, with a video of him building his own gaming PC going viral back in 2020. He also recently expressed interest in starring in a potential Mass Effect series. The actor is very expressive for his love of all things nerdy and the internet eats it up.
The Man from UNCLE actor took time to chat and pose for pictures with fans during his visit to Games Workshop Headquarters, with several of the photos ending up online. A Games Workshop citadel designer by the name of Darren Latham posted a picture to Instagram saying, “Fantastic to meet and chat with @henrycavill. Fantastic guy who REALLY loves Warhammer!”
Neither Henry Cavill nor the Games Workshop has disclosed the reason for the actor’s visit. While it could have been a friendly tour given to a prominent fan of Warhammer, many fans are hoping and speculating that a live-action film adaptation of the game could be in the works. Cavill has previously expressed interest in taking part in a Warhammer project in the past. It charmingly seems like his goal as an actor is to fulfill all of his nerdy fantasies by playing these iconic characters.
During his visit to Warhammer World, Cavill tried his hand at painting some of the miniatures. He said on Instagram, along with the photo above of a painted helmet, “Considering we are, both, going through the Easter period, and going through The Lockdown, I figured it a good time to put a silver lining onto the cloud that is some of the darker moments during this time. So I’ve decided to polish some old skills and try my hand at some new ones! It is a time of rebirth after all. So, as you can see here, the obvious might look a little bit like a tiny helmet…which it is. One of my almost lifelong hobbies, that I’ve been following but not actively doing, is this. A company called Games Workshop…or plastic crack as ‘we’ call it. Genuinely can’t get enough of the lore they have built over the decades. They have been some of my most enthused reads! If you were in denial about me being a geek before, you can’t hide from it now.”
The actor continued the post by thanking UK National Health Service workers saying, “I imagine it might be feeling a little rough right now, but you Ladies and Gents are absolutely smashing it! Keep it up! You got this.”
