Bungie filed three trademark applications on May 19, 2015 with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), all of which are related to the name “Eververse.”
The first trademark application is for the word itself and covers “interactive game software,” posters, calendars, books, trading cards, Halloween costumes, and more. Bungie appears to be covering grounds related to both video games themselves and any associated merchandise.
The second trademark application is for “Eververse Trading Co.” and covers all of the same provisions as the first trademark.
The third trademark is for the “EV” logo which can be seen below and covers the same provisions as the aforementioned trademarks.
While the purpose of these trademarks has been unconfirmed by Bungie, many have speculated that this will be related to an in-game player-trading system for Destiny.
Earlier this month, Bungie filed another trademark application for “The Taken King,” which players have speculated to be related to Destiny’s fall expansion.
Destiny’s last DLC, House of Wolves, was released on May 19, 2015 and brought with it new story missions, quests, strikes, the Prison of Elders, The Trials of Osiris, and more.
