Street Fighter V Will Be Playable at CEO 2015

May 25, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

Street Fighter V is coming to an event, where you’ll be able to play it for real.

Community Effort Orlando (CEO) started out as an effort to save a canceled event. Alex Jebailey, founder of CEO, said he wanted to give back to the fighting game community; he did so by organizing an annual event that – while based in Florida, is open to anyone who can make their way to the venue. The main objective of the tournament now is to bring together fighting game enthusiasts to play, learn, and just have fun.

Attendees of this year’s CEO will be treated to something extra special: Street Fighter V will be playable during the event. The game is slated for release in Spring 2016 still, and this is the first time that a playable demo is being made available to the gaming public. So far, the confirmed characters are Chun Li, Ryu, Charlie, and M. Bison. Yoshinori Ono, the series producer, has stated that Capcom wants to create something unexpected, in a bid to appeal to new players.

Street Fighter has been around for a long while, and has changed throughout the years. Some changes were welcome, others, not as much. If they’re trying something new with SFV, we’re hoping it’s going to be a good thing. No news yet on whether the PC version is going to be at the show, but we’re already sure that getting to play SFV ahead of everyone else will be plenty of fun. Mission accomplished in giving back to the community, CEO team.

The CEO Tournament will be held from June 26th to 28th. Are you booking that flight to Florida yet?
