News is coming out that the Nintendo Switch won’t be a completely brand new console, instead it seems it will be similar to the DS and 3DS situation. While it was released that the Nintendo will be announcing the new console before March 2025 – many believing they will announce it before the end of 2024.
However, after the recent announcement from Nintendo‘s president Shuntaro Furukawa, talked about how the system of the new console wouldn’t be a brand new type of system, but instead would be similar to the Nintendo Switch that is currently out according to Insider Gaming.
Furnkawa stated: “Switch next model is the appropriate way to describe it.”
There are many rumors about the next Nintendo Switch, including it having magnetic Joy-Cons, which suggests the outer style of it will look the same and/or similar to what we already know. It is supposedly made on Samsung components, and will also have backwards compatibility through the new console. This is something that happened with the 3DS, which allowed us to play our older DS games onto the console.
The new console is also remembered to have 4K resolution when it is docked. However, we don’t know if any of these rumors are new, so do understand they are nothing but rumors. The next console won’t come out until 2025 most likely, but it could be announced at the latest in March, 2024 which suggests the console could release something around int there.
