The Diablo franchise is getting a fourth mainline installment. However, This game will feature the same overall dungeon crawler style, which hack-and-slash gameplay fans have grown to love. While details are a bit scarce, we know that players will be battling against Lilith this time around, but you won’t have to face this beast yourself. Just like the previous Diablo installment, we’ll have some multiplayer components here as well. Unfortunately, you and your friends might be waiting for a bit longer for this installment.
Recently, Blizzard held an investors call, which highlighted two significant video game delays. The titles were Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. Neither game has been marketed very much this year, so it might not come as a shock that the developers require some more time. From what we are gathering, the investor’s call revealed that Blizzard is not expecting to see these games launch before 2023. That means we will be enduring another year waiting for more updates to hit the public.
Regardless, plenty of fans for the Diablo franchise will likely be disappointed over this shred of news. Fortunately, there was a recent Diablo remastered release with Diablo II: Resurrected. This might allow some newcomers a chance to play the game for the very first time along with veteran fans something to tie them over until Diablo IV finally hits the marketplace.
For now, it’s purely a waiting game to see just what comes of the Diablo IV video game installment. There might be quite a few more players currently interested in trying out Diablo Immortal as well. The initial mocked game could be the Diablo experience that will also help tie some players over until the next mainline installment is readily available.
