Yakuza creator, who also created Super Monkey Ball, Toshihiro Nagoshi has confirmed Yakuza 5 is in development, as well as a sequel for PSP title Yakuza Black Panther.
In light of the confirmation of the game's existence, Nagoshi has confirmed he has created a new Japanese studio within SEGA which will primiarly focus on creating future installments in the PlayStation-exclusive franchise. The studio is entitled 'Ryu ga Gotoku Studio', or the Yakuza Studio.
The developer's first game is a PSP sequel to Yakuza Black Panther, which is penned for an early 2012 release. PlayStation 3 exclusive Yakuza 5 has also been confirmed to be real.
The Yakuza series, in total ever since its inception on the PlayStation 2, has sold over five million units.
