The new Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is jam packed full of great FPS gameplay that one might hope will make it into the upcoming Fallout 4, should the game ever be announced, much less released.
That being said, it also contains an interesting little reference that might not necessarily mean anything, but fans of the Fallout series will certainly recognize it for what it is: a Nuka Cola drink, which is the most popular beverage of the Fallout setting–Sunset Sarsaparilla notwithstanding. You'll find it around ten minutes into the game.
Does this mean that Fallout and Wolfenstein share the same setting? Absolutely not. All it means is that MachineGames and Bethesda thought it would be interesting to implement a Fallout reference into their latest game.
It’s interesting to note that last year, Zenimax (Bethesda’s parent company) filed trademarks regarding Nuka Cola, preserving the iconic feature and series identity.
Though it does beg the question: could Bethesda be hinting at a Fallout 4 announcement somewhere around the corner? We can only hope that to be the case, especially since Bethesda recently updated the Fallout series website after five years of inactivity on that front. /p>
We know for a fact that Fallout 4 is in development, based on leaks on Kotaku a couple of years ago. Also, last year, a Fallout 4 development picture, presumably of the Creation Kit, surfaced, further cementing the existence of the game.
Just don't expect Bethesda's Pete Hines to confirm or deny anything about the game's development unless it's an explicit hoax like the Survivor2299 website.
