343 Industries has cancelled an official Halo tournament due to connectivity problems with the Master Chief Collection.
The developer tweeted on the Halo account last night that they were investigating joinability issues but were forced to cancel Cup #1 of Season 2 of the Halo Championship Series.
We're aware of and investigating party joinability issues. As a result, we'll be canceling HCS Cup #1, and apologize for the inconvenience.

HCS is Halo eSports' official league and has been on-going for several months with the co-operation of the ESL.
This weekend was due to be the first regular season online cup for the Halo Championship Series' Season 2. Originally, the cup was due to cover two days with two separate brackets. While matches did take place on Saturday according to schedule, the second day's events were cancelled as result of the game's connection issues.
To make up for the game's problems, Microsoft has promised that those affected during the first month will be able to download a free remastered version of Halo 3: ODST's campaign when it releases next month.
The Master Chief Collection was released 200 days ago and the fact that connection issues continue to be so severe surely raises concerns about Halo 5: Guardians which launches this October.
