Kim Swift Left Valve to Work on This Thing

August 29, 2011 by Josh Wanamaker

Kim Swift, one of the lead developers behind the original Portal and its predecessor Narbacular Drop, actually left a job at Valve to make this indie game, called Quantum Conundrum.

Does the headline sound as crazy to you as it does to…everyone else? Well, it should! Kim Swift, one of the lead developers behind the original Portal and its predecessor Narbacular Drop, actually left a job at Valve to make this indie game, called Quantum Conundrum.. I can only imagine she was offered a very large sum of money to make that incredible decision. Quantum Conundrum seems to be primarily about shifting between a cartoon world with a bit of realism and another dimension of slightly more cartoon influences but lacking in the realism aspects. Oh, and throwing around a large safe. That seems to be a big part of it. I am not…wholly uninterested in this project!
