Gaming hardware manufacturer Razer has announced the latest addition to its Chroma lineup of gaming peripherals., the Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma Keyboard. It's a tenkeyless-styled board that lacks a number pad.
Designed with a "sleek, compact form factor" in mind, the Tournament Edition Chroma Keyboard sports the same 16.8 million customizable color options as its larger sibling, which we reviewed here. It also comes with a detachable USB cable for portability.
Razer says that users can use the supplied Razer Synapse software to define their own key zones, customize lighting effects, and add multiple effects layers on each zone for a personified lighting display. Basically the same as the larger Chroma keyboard.
It also comes with Kailh green mechanical switches that function similarly to Cherry MX Blues, from my own personal experience with them. The keyboard is rated to withstand up to 60 million keystrokes, which is in the ballpark range for keyboards sporting mechanical keys.
The keyboard retails for $140 and is available through Razer's official site.
